My list of great books and book series
(in order of what comes to mind first)

1. Harry Potter
* Even though i am not going in order of my favorite books, Harry Potter will probably always be at the top of this list because it is just such a classic, great series. It is clever, intriguing, and difficult to put down

2. Maximum Ride
*i love this series because it has so much action and humor. I also luv the characters! they have unique powers and personalities, and its impossible not to luv them.

3. Lightning Thief
*This is the series that i am currently reading. I enjoy all of the greek mythology and great writing

4. Alex Rider
*i loved this series, and waz so obsessed with it for a really long time. The main charater Alex is so funny and sarcastic. That is MY favorite charater trait. also, each book has an interesting plot, that makes you need to know what will happen next...a quick read

5. Eragon
*this series is NEVER boring. It keeps you on your toes, cause anything can happen in this world. I really like how the author portays dwarfs and elves....creatures that are told a different way in every story that has them, but how the author of this book does it gives me a whole new idea on what their personality and disposition could really be like.

7th post

this week i read this kinda grotesque book in the car ride up to mighigan. It was called The Last Apprentence: The Curse of the Bane. It started by talking about a really gross creature called a boggart suckng a guy's blood! it gave a little bit to many details!!!!!EWWWWWWW!!!!!!! i shudder thinking about it. And then this creepy creature called the Bane started tlking to the main character (Tom) in his dreams, trying to get him to give the Bane his blood. IT WAS GROSS!!!! luckily Tom is just a really smart, strong, and caring character...so he dnt give the Bane his blood.
this is my reasoning for calling Tom smart, strong and caring.

smart

* in the beginning Tom took charge of the boggart situation by himself after only 6 months of an apprentenceship with the Spook (Tom's master)

*he was smart enought to remember very complicated directions of the catacombs under the city with no help from anyone else or something written down

strong

* Tom worked on a farm for all his life, and to be a farmer you have to be very strong

* Everytime they heard the emergency bell ring Tom had to run over a mile to get there for the news

caring

*even tho he new he would be sacrificing himself if he killed the bane he did, because he didnt want it to hurt people.

* He went to save the Spook and his friend Alice from the evil Quisitor even though it was really dangerous

Warning: don't read this post if you are currently reading The Lightning Theif
(may include some spoilers)

I finished The Lightning Thief!! I am always sooo sad when i finish a good book like the Lightning Thief, because i just dont want it to be over. I cant wait to read the rest of the series! i hope it is as good as the first book. I really liked all of the greek mythology in it. For example when they talked about Athena. Athena is my favorite goddess, because she is athletic and smart. two of the best traits. Also i liked how the author described the underworld. it really gave me a picture of what it actually would be like to be there. i find greek mythology really interesting. i liked that it had alot of action in it, so it was never boring to read. One of my favorite parts was when he fought Ares, the god of war and won! Wisdom does beat strength. I was very suprised when Percy finally met his dad, and all he got from him was a "good job!" after Percy practically saved the world!

5th post

This week i started a new book. The Lightning Thief. Everyone kept telling me that it was such a great book, so i decided to give it a try. In fact it was such a great book that im almost done with it!!!!I really like reading about greek mythology and stuff, so this was a really fun book to read. Also, i love the characters in this book. I was thinking that for this week's blog i would actually compare and contrast two of the characters. I chose Annabeth and Percy, because they are very different and still very much the same.

Percy

*has a god father who
is one of the 3 powerful brothers

*came to half-blood-hill
when he was 12

*is powerful
*is on mission to see the find his mom

both

*they are both demigods

*both live(d)
at camp half-blood

*both are good at
fighting

*both are on a mission

Annabeth

*has goddess mother who is Zues's child

*is on mission to see the world

*is athletic

* came to half-blood-hill when
she was 7
