10th post :-(

I am really sad, because this is my last post on this blog for the year........ :-(

Last week i made some predictions about the book i am currently reading called The Titan's Curse. It is the third book of the Percy and the Olympians series. I said that i think the evil skeletons that can't die were going to capture Percy, the Huntresses, Grover, and Thalia, and bring them to were Anabeth and Artemis were being held. (u might want to read the last post, so it makes more sense) Then i predicted that they were going to save Anabeth and Artemis, and kill the monster Artemis was pursuing. I was REALLY wrong about some parts, but right about others.

First, i waz wrong about the Skeletons capturing them. The skeletons never really hurt or captured any of them, they were just an annoyance to them. Percy and all the rest of the people who were on the quest found where Anabeth and Artemis were, without being escorted against their will.

I was right about them saving Artemis and Anabeth, but they couldn't save the Huntresses who gave their lives to save the quest. One of them sacrificed herself to kill a monster, and the other one died from fighting a dragon and her evil father..........i wish i could explain all of this better, but there is to much to explain!

The monster Artemis was pursuing actually ended up being Percy's friend cow-fish, who is completey harmless and nice. The reason that it waz considered so dangerous is if it is sacrificed, it would be bad. I think that the author should have explained that a little better, because i waz confused about what would happen if the cow-fish was sacrificed, and he could have told some backround info on it. for example....does it have family? how old is it? and more. Percy saved the cow-fish from the gods who just wanted to kill it, and not have to worry anymore.

WELL! THAT WAZ MY LAST BLOG..........BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

9th post

from earlier posts you might be able to tell that i am currently reading the lightning thief series. if u havnt read earlier posts.........i am currently reading the lightning theif series! right now i am on the third book called the titan's curse. i luv that it has my favorite goddess artemis in it! not to choose favorites or anything but she is soooo cool. i like how she is so independent and brave. for example she wanted to go kill the REALLY dangerous monster by herself.

right now in the book the hunters, grover, percy, and thalia are all trying to find anabeth, save artemis, and kill the monster artemis waz trying to find even though they dont know what it is!
thats a whole lot to worry about at one time.....plus they have some evil skeleton guys chasing them the whole time! wow! i cant wait to go read it, cause as you cans see it is getting really interesting. i think that they r gonna get captured by the skeleton thing that cant die, and brought where annabeth and artemis are being held. Then they are going to find a way to escape from the prison with annabeth and artemis, kill the monster, and live happily ever after. actually cross out the last part because if they lived happily ever after there wouldnt be any more books. (there are!) i think this because it would get everything done that they are trying to do, and because that is how alot of stories work. they set up a problem, find a way to fix it, get captured along the way, fix it, and live happily ever after....... then again this is not the typical book with all of it's greek mythology and stuff. who knows? it might suprise me! ill blog bout it next week to tell u if i waz completely off. BIBI!!!!!

8th post

My list of great books and book series
(in order of what comes to mind first)

1. Harry Potter
* Even though i am not going in order of my favorite books, Harry Potter will probably always be at the top of this list because it is just such a classic, great series. It is clever, intriguing, and difficult to put down

2. Maximum Ride
*i love this series because it has so much action and humor. I also luv the characters! they have unique powers and personalities, and its impossible not to luv them.

3. Lightning Thief
*This is the series that i am currently reading. I enjoy all of the greek mythology and great writing

4. Alex Rider
*i loved this series, and waz so obsessed with it for a really long time. The main charater Alex is so funny and sarcastic. That is MY favorite charater trait. also, each book has an interesting plot, that makes you need to know what will happen next...a quick read

5. Eragon
*this series is NEVER boring. It keeps you on your toes, cause anything can happen in this world. I really like how the author portays dwarfs and elves....creatures that are told a different way in every story that has them, but how the author of this book does it gives me a whole new idea on what their personality and disposition could really be like.

7th post

this week i read this kinda grotesque book in the car ride up to mighigan. It was called The Last Apprentence: The Curse of the Bane. It started by talking about a really gross creature called a boggart suckng a guy's blood! it gave a little bit to many details!!!!!EWWWWWWW!!!!!!! i shudder thinking about it. And then this creepy creature called the Bane started tlking to the main character (Tom) in his dreams, trying to get him to give the Bane his blood. IT WAS GROSS!!!! luckily Tom is just a really smart, strong, and caring character...so he dnt give the Bane his blood.
this is my reasoning for calling Tom smart, strong and caring.

smart

* in the beginning Tom took charge of the boggart situation by himself after only 6 months of an apprentenceship with the Spook (Tom's master)

*he was smart enought to remember very complicated directions of the catacombs under the city with no help from anyone else or something written down

strong

* Tom worked on a farm for all his life, and to be a farmer you have to be very strong

* Everytime they heard the emergency bell ring Tom had to run over a mile to get there for the news

caring

*even tho he new he would be sacrificing himself if he killed the bane he did, because he didnt want it to hurt people.

* He went to save the Spook and his friend Alice from the evil Quisitor even though it was really dangerous

6th post

Warning: don't read this post if you are currently reading The Lightning Theif
(may include some spoilers)

I finished The Lightning Thief!! I am always sooo sad when i finish a good book like the Lightning Thief, because i just dont want it to be over. I cant wait to read the rest of the series! i hope it is as good as the first book. I really liked all of the greek mythology in it. For example when they talked about Athena. Athena is my favorite goddess, because she is athletic and smart. two of the best traits. Also i liked how the author described the underworld. it really gave me a picture of what it actually would be like to be there. i find greek mythology really interesting. i liked that it had alot of action in it, so it was never boring to read. One of my favorite parts was when he fought Ares, the god of war and won! Wisdom does beat strength. I was very suprised when Percy finally met his dad, and all he got from him was a "good job!" after Percy practically saved the world!

5th post

This week i started a new book. The Lightning Thief. Everyone kept telling me that it was such a great book, so i decided to give it a try. In fact it was such a great book that im almost done with it!!!!I really like reading about greek mythology and stuff, so this was a really fun book to read. Also, i love the characters in this book. I was thinking that for this week's blog i would actually compare and contrast two of the characters. I chose Annabeth and Percy, because they are very different and still very much the same.

Percy

*has a god father who
is one of the 3 powerful brothers

*came to half-blood-hill
when he was 12

*is powerful
*is on mission to see the find his mom

both

*they are both demigods

*both live(d)
at camp half-blood

*both are good at
fighting

*both are on a mission

Annabeth

*has goddess mother who is Zues's child

*is on mission to see the world

*is athletic

* came to half-blood-hill when
she was 7

4th post

I WAS RIGHT! in the passage of The Good Thief that i read this week, Ben admitted to Ren that he was not his brother. Ben just made that up, to get Ren from the orphanage. I feel really bad for Ren now, because all he wants is a family and he is stuck with Ben. Also, Ren really hoped that Ben was his real brother, but he is not. :-( Instead Ben is a thief. Ren figure that out when he met Ben's partner in crime named Tom. They showed Ren their stash of fake medicaine that Ben and Tom sell to people. Another way Ben is a thief is he sole a poor farmer's horse. I think that Ben has good intensions though, because the title of the book is the Good Thief, not the Bad thief. Also it isn't like Ben wants to murder people, he is just a money thief.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT???
Find out next week on my blog!!!!

second The Good Thief post 3

This week im getting more into The Good Thief. He finally got adopted by his "brother." In the book the man makes a pretty good argument that he is the main character's (who's name is Ren)
brother, but i hav suspicions that he might not be. I don't know why, but i guess that it would make the story more interesting if Ben (that is his name) was not Ren's brother. i think that this book is fiction, but im not completely sure. I don't usually enjoy fiction, but this book is getting good.
I recently finished the book So Yesterday, that i was reading for my group novel in lit. skills. I really liked it, but im not really supposed to blog about it. TO BAD!! Till next week!!

The Good Thief post 2

I recently started reading this book called the Good Thief. So far its about an orphan boy, who is a rebel. he only has one arm, ( no one knows y) so he is never adopted. Its kind of boring, and slow right now. It just talks about his life at the orphanage. its somewhat interesting, but it is a different genre of book than i usually read. I guess i should give it a few more pages before i put it down. Maby he will get adopted by some evil person or something. that would make it more interesting. Keep reading!
